David,

if you think so, please tell me how you will restore a "true" image of -let
me say- a directory with many subdirectories, where some subdirectories and
files have been moved and renamed and other files or directories have been
deleted?

As an administrator I dont know about all these manipulations, and my users,
who want their files restored, are generally not able to trace back all
these operations, so how will you restore a true point in time image?

You know that newly installed files (modification date older then the backup
date) are not backed up at all. How will you restore files which were not
backed up?
