Hi Jonas,

I assume that your backups are a bit slower throighout the night because other
processing/network activity is going on.

Most likely you need to increase CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT.

What you will probably see is that the backup aborts after the current setting
 of the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT has elapsed. When NetBackup is processing it
resets the timer every time a file has been processed or when a tapechange has
occured (maybe others as well, but these are the ones that I've seen)

You cab change this value in the bp.conf or using the gui, it's under the
Universal settings tab.

My rule of thumb is make this value (in seconds) slightly larger than the
smallest of the following 2 values:
- The maximum time that it takes to backup a single file
- The time that it takes to write a full tape
