I was refering to external labels. By mounting the tape I was able to
determine these were the older set(1 set didn't actually have anything on
it, don't know what happened there).

Are you talking about external labels?
If so, I would simply mount the tapes and see what the RVSN shows up as in
the Device Monitor.

valid. The tape librarian has given me what he says is the older set but is
there a way to verify this for a fact? I don't want to take the chance that
the duplicate sets got mixed up and I re-use the tape with the good backup
images.
