I've got an open call to Veritas Support, but I figured that it can't hurt
to run this by everyone as well.
I'm unable to get one of our Macs to backup properly. We only have 2 Macs,
and one of them is working fine. The other keeps timing out with 57, 41,
or 54. These are backing up to a unix Master/Media Server.
Master/Media: Solaris 2.6, NBU 3.4GA
Mac that works: MacOS 9.0.4, tcp 2.1.6, nbu client 3.4
Mac that won't work: MacOS 8.6, tcp 2.0.3, nbu client 3.4
We've gone over the bp.conf & mac.conf, and everything appears to be
configured correctly, or at least both Macs are the same in that respect.
We have lots of NT boxes and unix boxes on both networks backing up fine.
No firewalls involved.
The failing mac is able to properly name resolve the master & media server.
There don't appear to be any other network related problems on that mac.
The master is able to communicate with the mac, but it appears that the mac
is not returning a winsock call properly.
Anybody else ever run into this similar situation? Anybody running clients
w/same MacOS & TCP versions? Support says that the lower versions are
still supported in 3.4. We've considered upgrading the OS/TCP versions,
but I'd rather find out if this is absolutely necessary 1st.
Thanks,
