Subject: [Veritas-bu] Start Scripts
Hello,
Does anyone out there know how to configure NetBackup DataCenter 3.4 so that
prior to a class starting its backups, a script can be run to shutdown all
databases, then once the backup is complete, to start up the databases? I
want to do this outside of installing the additional agents. We are running
on Solaris 8 with about 15 clients.
Thanks.
~Monica

This is the script we used on an NT SErver to shut down Oracle db's.
c:\Program Files\veritas\netbackup\bin\bpstart_notify.bat
set ORACLE_SID=MD
date /t >c:\oradba\log\bp.log
time /t >>c:\oradba\log\bp.log
svrmgr23 @C:\oradba\scripts\BPSTART_NOTIFY.DAT >>c:\oradba\log\bp.log
c:\oradba\scripts\bpstart_notify.dat
connect internal
startup pfile=c:\oradba\md\initmd.ora
exit
c:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\Bin\bpend_notify.bat
set ORACLE_SID=MD
date /t >>c:\oradba\log\bp.log
time /t >>c:\oradba\log\bp.log
svrmgr23 @C:\oradba\scripts\BPEND_NOTIFY.DAT >>c:\oradba\log\bp.log
c:\oradba\scripts\bpend_notify.dat
connect internal
startup pfile=c:\oradba\md\initmd.ora
exit
