When running a "full" clean install of the NetBackup 3.4.1 NT client using
the NetBackup BusinessServer/DataCenter 3.4.1 CD, the install does not
create the
C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\IDR\Data dir
With DR enabled the backups finish with status 1 and the following are
observed:
The .DR files are not created on either the client or master server.
In the problem log on the server:
2001/06/07 13:59:45 SERVER_NAME CLIENT_NAME Error collection of disaster
recovery information failed - system call failed
2001/06/07 13:59:45 SERVER_NAME CLIENT_NAME Error 1 backup of client
CLIENT_NAME exited with status 1 (the requested operation was partially
successful)
In the bpbrm log from the server:
13:02:00 [20664] <2> getsockconnected: Connect to CLIENT_NAME on port 896
13:02:03 [20664] <4> bpbrm store_dr_info:
13:02:03 [20664] <16> bpbrm store_dr_info: drfile on CLIENT_NAME failed with
error code 11: system call failed
13:02:03 [20664] <16> bpbrm handle_backup: collection of disaster recovery
information failed - system call failed
If DR is disabled and the backups are rerun they will finish with status 0
(assuming no OTM issues).
Part number?
60-000020-399
14-000035-399
Creating the directory manually is sufficient to fix the problem. A patched
version of 3.4 will not exhibit this problem since a 3.4 install creates
this dir which is present on all further patches/installs.
