seen it before - not sure what defines when this will or won't happen,
but at times the shutdown request that's sent to the nonexistant bprd
process on the media server gets passed to the master server.  The
solution is simple enough, though:

   edit the media server's K77 script to remove/comment the lines where
it kills those daemons.
