[Veritas-bu] Differences of backup exec and Netbackup
2001-05-30 12:58:12
Functionality versus cost. NB allows backup of multiple platforms and the
volume management is more robust. If you are only backing up Windows and
don't require lots of tapes I wouldn't spend the extra money on NB(though I
have not priced the products for a year so can't be sure of the current
differences).

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Differences of backup exec and Netbackup
What are the primary reasons to choose Netbackup (business server) over
backup exec? I am looking at an environment that is primarily NT and it
seems that backup exec would make the most sense, but I wasn't sure if there
were any reasons to choose the business server over backup exec, or in this
case reasons to choose backup exec over netbackup. The environment is small
enough that you could perform a full backup of all systems internal and
external and it would only require around 200 GB. The first environment is
within a DMZ and only requires 30GB to backup.
Thanks,
Dan
