hey guys,

my backup server complaining about timouts connecting to
clients. i have checked the network out and find not problems.
ping times are great. there is practically no traffic on the
network segment that is dedicated for backups. i am able to
ssh to and from the bu server to all of the clients. i see
no messages in the /var/adm/messages about hardware problems.
i get the following type messages from all the clients on the
backup serverB:

    TIME          SERVER/CLIENT                      TEXT
05/11/01 15:35:07 bu01-0 maindb01-0  timed out trying to connect
                                     to maindb01-0
05/11/01 15:35:08 bu01-0 maindb01-0  backup of client maindb01-0
                                     exited with status 54 (timed
                                     out connecting to client)
05/11/01 15:35:08 bu01-0 -  scheduler exiting - timed out connecting to
                            client (54)

the clients themselves do not have any entries in their logs. its
as if the bu server never even talks to them.

this is netbackup 3.2 on solaris 7 with spectra logic 10000 tape
robot. the system has been running for ~8 months with zero problems
nothing has changed on the boxes or network.
