You may want to look into the Advanced Reporter option available for
NetBackup.

It does what you ask.

Was wondering if anyone had any experience getting realistic tape usage
information out of NetBackup?  I came on board when our system was in place,
and haven't ever really tried to measure how much media we use.  However,
I've been given the task to determine what our tape requirements will be if
we change our retention period for all backups to 1 month.  I've got a 3.4
master on Solaris 2.7 (420R), with several media servers.  Currently, our
backup retentions are anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks, with a few NT monthly
backups retained for 1 mo. to 3 mo.
