How many 9840s and 9740s do you have? Can you see them with the SAN
software? Get there first, then...

Try:
        rem_drv sg
        rm -r /dev/rmt/*
        rm -r /dev/sg/*
vi /etc/devlink.tab, search on SCSA, delete entire section.
make sure st.conf has entry for targets 0-6 and 8-15, and LUNs 0-7
for each target. Watch for typos
doublecheck sg.conf and st.conf to be the same under /kernel/drv and
also /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver (st.conf can be removed if it's under
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver, but the sg.conf from there gets copied up to
/kernel/drv when you run sg.install, so keep it accurate. Also, there's a
good util under /usr/openv/volmgr/bin called sg.build you can use to build
your s*.conf files (unless you already wrote your own)
        reinstall passthru driver (/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver/sg.install)
        boot -rv, or drvconfig+tapes+disks

There's some other stuff depending on hardware you're using. Check for
patches and also config, email me if you like for any tidbits we know.

Good Luck!

I have seen this problem with a faulty st.conf.

This might not work on its own either.

If boot -r doesn't work on its own, try cleaning out /dev/rmt first. Then
use boot -r.
