I had a client that had a NT server backing up 200 GB.  The reason I am
replying to your message is because I noticed that you are at 3.1.1..  Oddly
enough on the NT client which was at 3.1.5 and the master was 3.1.1. we
found out that if we uninstalled Netbackup, reinstalled it, then rebooted
that the backups would complete in a timely fashion.  After a week or more
the backups would start running for days.  It may be an unknown / unresolved
issue with 3.1.1.  We never concluded why the backups took so long, but came
up with a work around.  ie local tape library for our larger clients.  

You may want to push the upgrade to 3.4.  3.2 and 3.4 seem like much better
releases than 3.1.1.

We are having a problem with our backups running extremely slow.  This
just occurred about two weeks ago.  The only change we have made is that
the amount of data on one of the servers went from 2gb to 140gb.  This
shouldn't be a problem and we do have larger servers.

For example.  Our largest server has ~367gb of data and is also the
netbackup slave with the tape library.  It used to backup in about 24
hours or so.  It currently has been running 60 hours and has only backed
up 347gb.

There are no errors in the logs.  We have verified that there are no
network issues.

We are currently running NB 3.1.1ga (waiting for software to go to 3.4).

Any ideas?
