The only thing I've had trouble with in an NBU 3.1.1/3.2, Solaris 2.6,
and Oracle 8.x environment has been with multiple NICs on the database
and backup server. The solution was given on this list, and it was to
add the REQUIRED_INTERFACE in the bp.conf on the Oracle w/RMAN clients.
RMAN appears to sometimes be picky/confused by multiple interfaces.
