[Veritas-bu] host authentication
2001-02-12 14:54:13
Hi All,
I have bkup02_120 as an alias to my master server bkup02.
However, I didn't define bkup02_120 in the bp.conf, but
the primary name bkup02 is defined in bp.conf. So, the
bp.conf looks like this
SERVER = bkup02
SERVER = whatever
and so on. But looking thru the logs, I see the following
errors
14:39:43 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: hostnames DO NOT compare
14:39:43 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: name1=ri11601 name2=bkup02
14:39:43 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: hostbuf=ri11601
hostentry->h_name=bkup02

14:40:55 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: name1=aplp08 name2=bkup02
14:40:55 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: hostbuf=aplp08
hostentry->h_name=bkup02
14:40:55 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: compare aplp08 with alias
bkup02_120
14:40:55 [1355] <2> hosts_equal: there were NO aliases for aplp08

14:40:55 [1355] <4> hosts_equal: aplp08=0x89224a69 bkup02=0x89227841
I will be darned, if I have to define bkup02_120 also in bp.conf.
Any ideas?
