I usually set up a target for each volume, and then one for the NDS and one
for Server Specific Info.
Then I put them all in a class, make them all NEW_STREAMS< and multistream
to a MPX to get performance.
Mileage may vary, tests done on a closed track with a professional driver.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NetWare target vs. non-target
I'm better understanding the target vs. non-target NetWare backups now.
I have a question about these.
1) Has anyone had any problems with backing up and restoring NDS? Do
you define the whole volume (SYS:\) in my instance as an NDS backup? Or
is it most correct to use the 'Selection List Entry' to exclude it from
the NetWare File System backup, then make a separate target which
excludes everything *except* the NDS directory?
2) If you switch your NetWare servers from non-target to target, can
you
restore the non-target data (defined as class type 'NetWare') to the
'target' NetWare server (defined as class type 'Standard')
Thanks,
RCA
