What kind of tape library is this...

if you run a robtest on the library can
you do an
s s
from inside of robtest
i once did a test on my library by putting the labels on
the tapes upside down and this caused all kinds of havoc, but i did find out 
that as long as the first tape in each row has the label on correct it will 
work.

When you view the media in the media manager interface be sure to show the
barcode column.  Does that match with what your media id is?

That would be my first step in troubleshooting this.
