well,

i must say i have tried to do a upgrade from 2.6 to 2.8 with no problems
The only problem which i was getting was from veritas netbackup and veritas
files system

I think the more important question is, has anyone ever succeeded in
upgrading 2.6 to 2.8? ;-)
We tried on a few test systems, and all of them had to be re-jumped.
