We recently performed the same upgrade just as you described and didn't run
into any problems.  Just remember to manually configure the nbu services,
and anything else that's automated (reports, sendmail, etc.).

like to take the existing installation of Netbackup on an E3000 and move it

new E4500.   The new box would have the same name and IP address as the old.

would think that we would be able to bring over the /usr/openv tree, and
would
possibly have to reconfigure the tape drives because the hardware paths to
the
drives will change.

Anybody out there done something similar?  Any gotchas I'm missing?
