Netbackup 311, Solaris UNIX platform, ATL P3000, all drives and slots in
the same box.

According to Tech note 184007, all that is required to reserve a drive for
restore was to define one less
drive in the storage unit
Question
Does the free drive have to be defined in another storage unit before it can
be used for restores ?
Q
On a P3000, I have allocated on free drive per system, i.e. 5 drives (4
defined in a SU) and attached to Master, ditto for slave system
Can a restore use either of the 2 free drives , or is it dependant on the
where the backup was done?

Do I have to stop the daemons to have this change implemented?
Is there a dynamic way of adding and removing drives in a storage unit?
