 not true anymore. this was a OnTap limitation, and with
latest version of NetApp software, a filer can send data
to another filer with a localy attached drive. see 
http://eval.veritas.com/webfiles/docs/NBU_NetApp_DS_r8.pdf for
a schema.

 but you'll have to check which OnTap version you need to do
that.
