Mike asked the same question. I replied directly to him...

You'll need to create multiple default policy schedules with in the class
with the different retention periods. Then in the scripts you'll need to
define what default policy schedule to use. From the manual...

"NBSCHED  - If the NetBackup class has several Backup Policy schedules, use
NBSched to select amongst them."

So in the script set NBSCHED to the default policy you want.

                Is it possible to invoke a script based selection value such
as 'BPBACKUP_SCHED' in order to get the incoming backup stream directed to a
particular schedule and thus onto a tape of a given retention policy?

                I thought this was the standard procedure for Oracle and
Sybase type backups - not SQL?
