Mike,
You guessed right - you'll need to open the appropriate ports for the
robotic control. You'll also need to open up the vmd port as well sice you
can only have one volume database. the specific port numbers can be obtained
from the /etc/services file.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Details on DMZ server backup config
Hi,
Digging through the archives, I found this messages about how to backup
DMZ servers w/o opening a ton of ports. The message read:
>Easiest way is to put a master outside the firewall.
>You can share the tape library inside the firewall by opening something
like
>5 or 6 ports. Set aside a tape pool for just the DMZ servers.
>This way you can bypass opening 5000 ports for backups across the firewall
What would the 5 or 6 ports need to be opened for? Would this be for
connections to the host inside the firewall which has the control of the
library robot? Any help on the details of this picture would be helpful.
-mike
