I just fought this battle too.
After turning on logging on the client, I found the error was really the
same as Error 11. I was getting Exit Status 11 in the client logs.

After setting the registry entries \OTM_Cache_Size_Init and
\OTM_Cache_Size_Max
under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config
to a value of "0", the error 249's went away.

see the readme.txt file under the ~Veritas/NetBackup/readme.txt
on the clients.

Enjoy.

And Joseph, Way to Beta Test those products for us. I'm beta testing
Win2000
systems now, want me to send you the results??

Hi Michael,

You might want to try setting the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT on your master / media
servers - a figure of 1800 is a good starting point. Also are you running
OTM? If so what are the cache size settings?

Finally you do realise that Tru64 V5.0 is not supported by Netbackup at this
point??

Regards
JC

Hello

When I try to backup a Windows NT client with about 25 GB data, I get
status code 249 filelist incomplete.

The Troubleshooting Guide says to the log directories for bptm, bpbrm and
bpdbm on the server and bpbkar on the NT client.

I have also tried to raise the List files timeout on the client and stil get
status code 249.

Any suggestions ?

I am running Netbackup 3.2 upgraded from 3.1 on a AlphaServer 800 with
Compaq
Tru64 Unix V5.0.
