First, DO NOT relabel these tapes.  It will make the existing data go 
bye-bye really quick!

Second, the way around this in the future is to use barcode rules.  You 
need to create a barcode rule called <NONE> that says that if a tape does 
not have a readable barcode, Netbackup will not use it.  (It will also 
prevent you from a really messy situation if/when you put a tape in upside 
down.)

Now, you could do something that I've thought about, but HAVE NOT 
tested.  I've got a pile of tapes from an old server that have a barcode 
series that I don't like.  First, delete the existing volume.  Then import 
the tape into your library with the new barcode.  Then import the tape with 
the bpimport command.  Then you will have a tape with an EVSN (BARCODE) 
that you like, and an RVSN (Recorded label) that matches the old tape name.

Unfortunately, this is a lot of work. ;)
