Hi Mark,

The biggest issue I've seen with Alphastor is that one cannot get the media
rotation features without the library/drive functions. I've had a lot of
folks ask for media rotation/management in NetWorker, but at least in the
past, Alphastor was too complex/not stable enough for many sites.

Do you know if it is in the plans to be able to use the media
tracking/offsiting parts of alphastor without having to use the
LCP/DCP/Robotd portions?

Thanks,

Dave

"BTW, I'd be happy with allowing AS a 'free extra' under Capacity
Licensing."

Tim - In fact, we removed licensing restrictions for AlphaStor last year.

You can now download AS and use it with either traditional or capacity
licenisng with no additional licensing costs or requirements. We also
refreshed AS last year, and version 4.0 contains an assortment of new
features and bug fixes.

For the list, AlphaStor is experiencing renewed interest because of it's
Vault Management capabilities. It assists NetWorker by automating media
lifecycle management (tracking, recycling, etc) once media is ejected from
the tape library.

Enjoy,

Mark
