Look whether the two services
  Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider
  Volume Shadow Copy
are in a proper state.

Stop the NW service.
Open the task manager and look for still active nsravtar processes. If so, kill 
them.
Restart the NW client service.
Retry the backup.
