It is unknown what the issue was because engineering was unable to analyze the 
dumps that were
produced.  Their determination was that either the stack was corrupted or the 
dump was truncated.

Therefore, EMC provided me a debugging binary (a non-stripped rebuild I think), 
and since they
had no clue, I applied OS maintenance at the same time that I put on the 
debugging binary
(after 3.5 days of not having a backup server, I wasn't allowed to just put on 
a new binary
that was purely for gathering more information).  That has "resolved" the 
issue...  Now, I'm
working to burrow into the "why were the dumps useless" question.
