[Networker] Q about upgrading MS SQL in-place from 2005 to 2008, and SQL Module
2012-02-01 11:09:08
We have a MS SQL 2005 cluster, and we use the SQL Module to back it up.
This weekend, we're going to be upgrading (in-place) from SQL 2005 to SQL
2008. Do we need to do anything with the Networker SQL Module, such as
re-installing it?
I think: no. The actual cluster is keeping the same DNS name, and same IP
address. So I don't think I need to re-install anything. The scheduled
backup jobs (which specify saveset of MSSQL:) should continue to Just
Work, as the client info (DNS, IP) will continue to be what Networker
currently thinks they are.
Correct?
Current SQL Module is v5.2.2.23 (64bit), and the Networker Client is
v7.6.2.3 (64 bit). Client OS is Win 2008 R2 Enterprise.
