Hi brerrabbit,

If its the VSS not being updated from the client side, then why would these 
backups run successfully one day and the other day its hung even after a 
succesfull backup showing as ACTIVE?

the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 does not really show the issue 
which I am facing now.

Any ideas please?
