Add -pnv to the savegrp command Martin suggested :
it will not start the backup but print, in verbose mode,
probe info and the pool(s) to be used by the backup
Add -I (to skip bootstrap) and/or -l <desired level> if your pool selection
depends of level.

Yeah, if you run a:
Savegrp -G "GROUPNAME" -c CLIENTNAME
It should use whatever pool is assigned to that group, you can check it
through the pool's properties.
You can also run a save command from the client and specify a pool you want
it to write to, just make sure that the server/storage node that hosts the
device is in the "storage nodes" field of globals 2 of 2 on the client.

There is no target pool for a particular client. It depends on lots of
factors, potentially the group, the level, etc.
