NW's standard behavior is that it will always pick the latest version of the 
file which is listed for the current backup cycle.
If you want the files from a specific backup, it is better to use a save set 
recovery.

The duplicate file name handling options are self-describing (as you stated). 
If you are unsure, recover them to a temp directory and get the files from here.
