Hello NetWorker friends.

We're about to setup a new NetWorker installation (version 7.6_SP2), where
all clients are supported except for som NETWARE servers.

I'd like to take your advice on how to best protect these servers, most
prefferably via NetWorker - but all suggestions may apply.

I have a few scenarios, that I think of myself - but need confirmation on
which way is best - or if you have other suggestions - or already do
NETWARE backups succesfully with NetWorker 7.6.X

Background:
* Support for NETWARE backup clients ended per June 30th 2010.
* NetWorker 7.6 don't have support for 7.2 clients at all, which is the
latest NETWARE version available.

My Suggestions for a backup solution:
* Installing a NetWorker 7.5 server to backup NETWARE clients

* Virtualize NETWARE servers and back them up (.VMDK) via NetWorker + VADP
to a DataDomain

* Virtualize NETWARE servers and let vmware do VADP backups directly to a
DataDomain

* Use NETWARE's built-in backup tools (if they still exists?...) to backup
directly to DataDomain

* Use NETWARE's built-in backup tools (if they still exists?...) to backup
to a disk device accessible from backup server and then backup the backup
files from networker server to a DataDomain

Note:
I don't know if we're able to or admitted to virtualize the NETWARE
servers.

Any suggestions or thoughts appreciated...

Thanks
Mats Atari
