EMC IBM Micro$oft you name it, they all want the same thing ;)
We made a change to the EMC capacity license, which includes everything,
expect powersnap and snapimage, go figure why. but apprantly those two are
NOT part of Networker core products.
Anyways, the capacity licens, gives us everything in terms og licensens,
which is a huge help compared to their old model. Need a new storage node
? No problem, just install it and off you go.
But still, I would like the powersnap and snapimage to be there too, I
thought I was done with Licensing :D
The DD boost, is an enabler on the DD box, cause others use the same tech,
and EMC dont just wanna give it away.. Although they should if you plan to
use the DD in a networker enviroment, its working very well.

The DD Boost license was considerably cheaper than I had expected.
The Networker DataDomain storage system enabler wasn't though.
I love the way EMC spruke them as the perfect match, then charge you for
additional licenses on both before they'll talk to each other ;)

We upgraded to NW 7.6.1 and were disappointed to find that all the DD hype
over integration with NW requires the purchase of DD Boost licenses.
We like our DD880 which replicates to DR site. We also have a DD690 which
replicates back here to HQ. We have both setup as AFT for NW backup
destinations as well as other shares which we backup with NW to tape.
