As a contractor just set-up 7.6.1 up for a client in Boston. Migrated
them from Symantec Netbackup to Networker. They listed COST as the main
reason to migrate OFF of symantec.
First of all the new version is AWESOME! I love the way it handles
Virtual/Logical Machines... Click on the physical server, tell it to
SCAN it gives you a complete list of all the logical servers associated
with it.
So much more to talk about... but it is FRIDAY!
I will throw in another little P.S. RHEL 6???? Upgrade to 7.6.2!!!
I wish I could upgrade all my clients to 7.6.x!!!! While you are at it,
integrate Data Protection Advisor 5.6 (I can't wait for 5.7) - Toss in
some Data Domain and POOF you have an incredibly simple environment to
manage!

Subject: [Networker] 7.2 Networker vs 7.6 Networker 7.6
I've been out of the backup arena for 3years and had used 7.2 Networker
then.
I'm in a new position and with my prior backup expierence Ihave been
told I may start
managing the new backup environment, changing from Symanted Backup Exec
to Networker 7.6.
I'm very curious to how much the versions have changed ustilizing the
Java Platform now.
