I would suggest you do not use this list for these kinds of things.
However much your good intentions are. The list is meant for
everything networker related.

You already knew you should not be sending to this list as you write
"I apologize to anyone who finds this off-topic plea<snipped>"

For the future: If you know you should not do something, don't ;-)

That beeing said: I applaud you and your selflessness, I hope you will
gather a BOATLOAD of money for the cause!
