Have you checked if the OS is able to see the drives? Also, change in
drive results in a change in serial number also. It would be advisable
to perform of the devices in NetWorker in case you are able to see and
are able to operate the drives from the OS(using mt as Stanley already
specified).

This sounds like an issue with connectivity from the host to the tape
drives. What troubleshooting steps have you taken to ensure the
NetWorker server and/or storage nodes can access the tape drives? For
example, can you manually load a tape into each of the tape drives and
issue a rewind command using the mt utility?
