Matthew,
A couple of things to try:

 1. Does <NMC install dir>\bin\gstping -s <nmc server name> work?
 2. Kill any orphan javaw processes on the client machine and
restart the UI
 3. Try to launch the UI from different machines in case this is a
client machine issue.

Cheers,
Skip

I am running Legato Networker on Solaris 10. I have restarted the
service and it appears to stop and start and I have even see where it
thinks I am connected to the port for the GST service but no window pops
up on workstation. I have tried it on Windows and MAC with no
differences. Thanks for your help in this matter.

I have stopped and started the Networker process countless times in the
past without problems like this. Just hate to reboot the server for the
magical fix when I won't find out the real cause of my troubles. Thanks
for your time.

What OS?

At least under Linux, GST is started independently from the rest of
networker, via a different startup script (gst instead of networker).
However, I've had problems where gst starts before networker is ready to

talk to it, so it will exit and I will always have to manually start it
after a reboot. It's not a big deal since it only affects the GUI.
