In regard to: [Networker] Setting max value for SAVE SET SIZE, Matthew...:
Is there any way to set the maximum size for a save set?
Not that I've ever seen. What are you trying to accomplish (or avoid)?
I have found
the SS cut off value but it can only be set to 4 GB.
This isn't the same thing, and doesn't do what you want. This setting
was used back in the old days before all components of NetWorker could
handle volumes larger than 2 GiB (the size of a signed 32 bit quantity).
If the NetWorker client encountered a volume larger than that, instead of
creating one e.g. 8 GB saveset, it would create 1 2000 MB saveset and 3
2000 MB continuation savesets, e.g.
/home
<1>/home
<2>/home
<3>/home
You still sometimes see this crop up if you're using a debug version of
the client or under certain rare circumstances, but generally these days
if you're getting continuation savesets, you have a configuration problem.
You should avoid using the SS cutoff setting.
It *might* be possible to accomplish what you're after using savepnpc, but
I'm not certain. I don't really understand the what or the why in what
you're asking for, so I can't really give you any good suggestions for
the how.
