Hello,

First it's a reverse lookup that usually fail, not a dns search.

To  completely remove the possibility of a network error try to put all the
ip addresses in the host files on both the client and the server :

Ip fqdn alias1 alias 2 .....

Try a restore just to check  if the networker server can find the client
