I used a similar setup before going to LTO4. I used CentOS5 with HP servers and 
HP LSI drivers. As I recall I did get higher speed negotiations, but the drives 
themselves have a max speed uncompressed of 25MBs as I recall. I had one drive 
per channel and would see bursts of 30-40 MBs per drive in networker.
