Hey doc,

With 7.4.x and above you need a "Virtual Tape Library Capacity" license in
order for a vtl to work. I'm not sure if that would cause you to not be able
to see the library, but it's worth looking into. I remember when I created my
2nd datazone I had probs with the library until I had that license.

Subject: [Networker] EMC CDL robot unavailable after upgrade to 7.5.1

Hi. I have upgraded a solaris 9 server from networker 7.3.2 to 7.5.1. The
upgrade appears to have been successful except that the CDL virtual tape
library will no longer function.

After investigation it appears that the CDL Library Robot is no longer visible
by the networker server. When I run the inquire command it returns almost
immediately with no output. I ran an inquire command before the upgrade so it
was definately working then.

I have checked that the fibre card can see the CDL and i believe it can using
lputil as the WWN is listed as online. I believe that the CDL 4 Virtual tape
devices are online using other command line tools (cant use inquire!).

I have also upgraded some storage nodes that use the EMC CDL and they can see
the tape devices successfully. It appears that the Virtual RObot is causing the
porblem.

Persistent bindings were configured on all fibre devices before the upgrade.

Any advice on where this problem is originating and how i can resolve it?

Thanks, Mark
