I am backing up a system that includes a Microsoft Distributed File System
(DFS). I get the following message in the Savegroup Completion message:

DFS Junction/Mountpoint detected: files/directories under `C:\Roots\zeus\' will
not be backed up. To back up a DFS Junction/Mountpoint, specify the DFS
Junction/Mountpoint as the saveset value.

This is a standalone DFS where the whole system exists only on the single
Networker Client. So, if I'm backing up the client running DFS using the "All"
saveset that includes the "files/directories under 'C:\Roots\zeus\'" how much
am I missing by not doing a special "DFS" backup? What sorts of problems could
this cause during a full restore?

We are running NetWorker 7.5.1 and the OS of the client is Windows Server 2003.

PS. For those of you wondering why we're using DFS at all, we build electronic
devices (mostly GPS) for General Aviation. Many of the documents we've filed
with the FAA in the past explicitly name the old file server by name and by
using the DFS system we don't have to worry about revising the reference in the
paperwork we filed with the FAA because we continue to use the old name.

Thanks, Dave
