[Networker] Does the NMC user/group have to be defined locally?
2009-11-05 14:38:35
If you create a special user/group for NMC (running on the backup server
- RH Linux server), does it have to be in the local password and group
file, or can it be in the NIS password and group files and not defined
locally, assuming, of course, that the machine has NIS access?
If it has to be in the local files, can it be removed after installation
or possibly after it's been launched once and before it's launched
again? In other words, once it's told who to run as, does it need to be
able to always find that user/group entry?
Also, does NW have to be running before NMC is installed? I assume it
has to be running before NMC will start, yes?
