Ingo,
If you run a mminfo command as Frank suggested you may want to make the
ssflags field part of the output, I suspect the activity you are seeing may
be NetWorker cleaning up aborted or incomplete savesets.

Then I suggest that you use mminfo to list all the ssid's on that aftd and
then you will know 
what got deleted tomorrow.  Are you seeing any backup failures?  NetWorker
will also delete 
savesets that were aborted.  Is it the same time every day?
