nsrmm is your friend. If all you have on tape[s] is to be deleted -
nsrmm -d <volume>

If you want to retain the tape but delete only certain saveset[s] from it -
nsrmm -d -S<SSID>[/CLONEID}
note that this tape will not be reusable until ALL savesets get recycled.

read manpage for nsrmm:
===8<===
     -d Deletes the client file indexes and media database
          entries from the NetWorker databases. It can be used in
          conjunction with -S ssid/cloneid to delete a specific
          saveset. Note that the ssid used can be the long for-
          mat, to avoid ambiguity. The long format of ssid can be
          obtained by running the mminfo with -r "ssid(53)". The
          mminfo manpage has details of this usage.
           The action does not destroy the volume: instead, it
          removes all references used by NetWorker to the volume
          and the user files contained on it. This option can be
          used to control the size of the NetWorker databases.
