I think, even if you achieve to restore it to network path, MS SQL fails
with unsupported cifs usage.
It seems to me that fixing iscsi issue will be more practical. Please note
that iSCSI must be supported by your storage. If you are using iSCSI
adapter, you can try microsoft iSCSI initiator as an alternate.

Worse case you can attach some external usb disk just to achive this
restore:)) (of course it will be very slow)
