Dear All,
After a "specialized" company did our legato networker upgrade and install of
our new taperobot we are not getting the desired speeds we would like to have
Any help and insight would be appreciated
This is the new setup of our backup
Legato Networker 7.4.4 running on 1 W2K3 SP2 server
4 dedicated storage nodes als W2K3 SP2
50 W2K3 or W2K servers
LTO4 Quantum I-scalar Taperobot
Now I am told that LTO 4 should at least make 80 to 100 mb / sec
If we try it with a bigasm file of 25 Gb it does get a score of above 100 mb/sec
The people at the company tell me that the problem mainly is that we have too
much small files (ie profiles and homedirs with word. Excel and powerpoint
files)
I cannot believe that we are the only company with about 500 users that use
LTO4 as backup type
Could someone please reply with some figures of their backup, and or have any
real solution ?
