dustin,
we had a similar problem with Networker+Solaris+L700. it worked just find for
years then one day after a tech visit/reboot it began acting up. it would run
for a while but within the day, Networker would have several tape/library
errors. We ended up setting "Persistent Binding" on the Solaris box. I know
what you are thinking, this should not matter as we had the wwids in the HBA
~.conf file and the lus.conf file. we also had the wwids set to static (the
library sets the same wwid everytime for tape drives). it has been a long time
but is think the file is /etc/devlinks.tab
here is format
type=ddi_byte:tape;addr=w500104f00054414e,0; rmt/12\M0

the number on the end are the actual tape-drive number.
i was very skeptical but had been fighting it for 3-days; i tried it (couldn't
hurt anything and could take it out later).
no problems since (circa 2007)
