The database stores the information about who is authorized to use NMC and
their respective passwords, plus backup history for the servers you manage
with NMC.

I moved my NMC a few months ago without incident, but I didn't bother to
copy over the database. I just did a standard install of the NMC portion of
the tar file for 7.4.4 then I set up new accounts for people and let them
select their passwords. Since moving NMC off one of my NetWorker servers to
its own system (actually a Linux VM), it has been running much better. Note
that you also need to set up proper authorizations on the NetWorker servers.
