Hello,
Thanks Darren, i did confirm that aborted savesets are recyclable, i 
wanted the workaround since, the aborted saveset is becoming an issue, i 
guess, without recycling the entire tape, i will not be able to utilize 
the capacity again ( VTL tapes).

Why would it be quicker?  Do you have items on the tape that have
different retention periods?

nsrmm -d doesn't remove anything from media.  It removes the saveset
information from the media database, but the media is (initially)
untouched. 

If the saveset was aborted, it should already be marked
expired/recyclable.  Confirm with 'mminfo'.

Then you can't recycle the tape.  You cannot write to the middle of a
tape without destroying all the data after that point.

If you want to recycle part of a tape, stage or clone the savesets you
do want to keep to other media, then recycle this one.
